Welcome to the club :banghead:

The guy I used to deal with would come right to the house to fit my stuff. And prior to that the guy that sponsored me when I raced gave me tires. Now I am just like everyone else...no connections. :akomjiis:

Let me know if you come up with anything.

Will do Ron. I'll have to ask my Stang buddies. Just thought I'd throw this up on here since Scooter hooked me up with the window tint guy 2 years ago over there.

Guys, I don't know what kinda tires you're looking for as I'm not into cars that much. My brother does work at Discount Tire and can probably hook ya up with something. But like I said, I don't know if Discount Tire carries the stuff you're looking for.
jjkGURU
no hook ups anymore but i went though enough tires on my sports cars (and bikes for that matter) to give a good first hand reviews - and i'm picky as hell when it comes to sport car/bike tires.
hockeytown316
believe it or not Walmarts has the best deals on tires.

What kind of tires are you looking for...Drag radials or street tires?

Size?

Discount tire direct has pretty good prices online w/ free shipping...

Not sure what I'm going to go with yet, but I can tell you right now it's NOT going to be anything from Goodyear or Shitto Nitto. I MIGHT try some Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires if he can get them and the price is right, but that's the ONLY tire I'd buy from Goodyear.

Street tires. 245/40/17 I already have a pair of M/T ET Street DR's on 17x9s Bullits.

I'll have to check out Discount and see what they can get. Do they do High speed dynamic balancing there? If not, I'll have to go somewhere else. I'm sure they do.
SpeeDWerX1000
I ran nitto 555s on my camaro and they were not too bad--probably wouldn't buy them again. Their DR's suck compared to the mickey thompsons also..

I've heard good things about GS-D3 good years also..

I hated my Eagle F1s also.

speedy, what about jason? I know he does rims, dunno if he's into tires though. Haven't seen him around in a looooong time.

i have the gs d3's on my bird, four 275x45x17's ,pretty happy with them for a street tire they hook ok. no where near the mt/dr's i smoked off last year.

cheapest i found was online from discount tire. road force balancing is a lot better than a dynamic too, jay man.

I've never run Nittos, but I've nver heard anything good about them.

All my buddis are switching to M/T DR's from Nittos after they saw my consiatnt 1.8 60's with my pretty much stock pig heavy convertible.

What's road force balancing Dan? Maybe I've got my "technical balancing terms" mixed up. dunno.gif

Never heard anything about GS D3's. I'v got BFG KDWS on there right now, but I bought them used (150 for 4 off a buddy) after I got rid of the stock Eagle ZRs. Not bad tires, dfinately better than Eagle ZR's, but I think they got dried out from sitting outside and that's why they're wearing out so fast.

Speedy, I need somone to take some video for me before I get my new tires. smilielol.gif

road force or load balancing is what you want for these short sidewall fat tread tires. a dynamic balance is balancing the vertical and lateral while the tire is free wheeling. most of the vibrations from fat tires comes from imperfections, high and low spots, in the tread surface, load balancing applies a roller to simulate a load on the tire and will better tame the distortions the in tread surface.
it's a little pricey but a much better outcome.

now that i come to think of it, i found the tires i wanted on-line from wally world abit cheaper than discount.
discount had a volume buy special on custom Boyd coddington smoothie 2 rims. discount price matched the tires so i got the whole wheel/tire package from them.

my 2000 t/a has a very limited wheel well to stuff fat tires in, without mashing in the fender lip and inner well area. 11in. X 28in tall is max without rubbing. i just can't bring myself to hammering and butchering my ride up. i also wanted a 17 inch rim to maximizing the sidewall height for traction and road ride bump cushioning. 275x45x17 is kinda an oddball size and was hard to find from all the different makers. i wanted the Yoko tires but couldn't find the size, and the proxies were just to soft a compound to deliver some tread life for the price. so i settled for the Goodyear ds-g3's, the spec's between the brands put them near the top in all categories even with the harder compound.
the "v" tread looks great also. roll them over abit to get them hot and they stick ok. not great, but ok. the only real complaint i have with these is they pick up and throw every stone on the road with this tread pattern.

one other thing, those new seleans look sweeeet! are quick too bro.

Thanks Dan, now who does load balancing?

I'm not crazy about Saleens. To over priced IMO. And, thir customer service sucks.

If I was going to buy a Stang other than a GT or spcialty model (Mach,Bullitt,Boss) I'd go with a Roush.

Buddy at work has an 06 Roush with a Vortech, exhaust and methanol injction that put down 48? RWHP. Got Boost? div20.gif

Waiting for the new Challenger here. Love the concept car. I just hope they don't change it like they did the Charger.

Ford has some specialty Stangs due out later this year. Bullitt is one of them and I believe the Boss soon to follow. Also heard a rumor about a Shelby GT350 with a SC 4.6l 3v,but like I said, "rumor" dunno.gif We'll see.

Love the Camaro drop top.

NOT THE shit.gif , just shit.gif

I like the BFG KDWS's that are on there now, but they're wearing out so fast. I really do belive the got dry rot from sitting. dunno.gif only paid $150 for all 4. Looking to try a different tire.

Guy at work just bought some Perelli P-Zeros for his Charger R/T. Says he likes em.

Gonna stop by Ricks Tire and Wheel and get some prices soon. Summer is almost here. smiley-faces7.gif

KDWS worked well if you have to drive it year round, but for just a toy i wouldn't put 'em on. why didnt you like them? it's been a while, but me and a few other buddies with f-bodies tried a bunch of diff shoes and those seemed the stickiest (again though, its been a few years)

They're doing another Bullitt?? Nothing special, just trim and color... a friend has one, bought it to flip, but missed the 'rare' rush and couldn't make squat, so just drove it.

I had em back in the 90s and they sucked. But even now most people say the only 2 car tires BFG makes that are worth squat are the KDWS and their DR. And now compared to M/Ts DR, the BFG DR's are junk. The old DR BFG made was A LOT better than the ones they make now.

Bold- :o freakface.gif Don't let the IMBOC hear that.

Not true. They also have different brakes, suspension, exhaust (cat-back), intake manifold,UD pullies (good for 10-15 hp), side scoops, fuel door and IUP (interrior package) and they're all spolier delete. Should have made them SC'd from the factory.

I almost bought one back in 01, but I could only find a black or blue one. I hope the new ones ONLY come in Dark Highland Green like the origional, and like the 01s should have.

Hmm, didnt know they did all that extra stuff, and it was still only $26k. My friends was the original green, or what they said anyway. When he bought it in '01, they were going for $35k on ebay... put his up, but the market dried, couldn't get more than $28k, so he kept it and drove it.

Why dont you buy the uncles then, if you want one?

All what OT? news.gif I'm lucky that we're short a few people right now because they didn't replace the people who took the Jan-March buyouts yet.

We're missing 3 people in my dept. right now,but we have to divide that OT between 30+ people based on OT hours charged.

Translation- I'll get 1-2 weeks of 60 hours (5-12s) then 6-8 weeks of 40. smackhead.gif

I made 18k less in 06 than I did in 05.
Matter of fact, I made more money in my first full year at Ford (99) than I did last year. And I wasn't any where close to full pay rate or what I make an hour now.

I don't see you talking about running out and buying more toys!? dunno.gif
