Some great reading on MSN in the "talk about this story" concerning Ford. WOW! Do people hate that company now :lbfjipsm: Whether it be their car that fell apart, their local dealer that's been closed and now the next closest is 50 miles, or the AFA group. I am starting to think they may be doomed afterall.

Funny how history repeats itself. In 1926 Ford lost HUGE marker share because people were sick of the Model T, so they finally came out with the Model A, against Henry's wishes. He hated change...here we are 80 years later and Ford still hates change (learned all this at the Henry Ford Museum Monday when I took my daughter for the day).

Yea, I heard about record losses, blah blah.. contrary to popular opinion, I don't take any joy in these reports... it downright sucks man, for all of us. Watching an industry I was born, raised, and worked in for MOST of my career just fkn grenading all over the place... the fallout is all around, and it's not fun to watch.

Besides, I've had other battles consuming my time lately...

I had a revalation while on my cardio walk to day (damn it was cold out).

We have the "Big 3" right? And we want everyone to buy American. But they are splitting the Buy Americanpie 3 ways. Toyota doesn't really have much threat from anyone beside Honda in the import arena IMO.

Easier for Toyo to dominate I guess.

As for the Ford thing...it sucks. I am really scared for a lot of folks, well all of us in Michigan honestly. They pretty much mortgaged the company on their turn around. Yet their big 2007 product launch is an ugly POS oversized terd called an "Edge". NOT WHAT PEOPLE WANT from what I hear on the TV and on the WWW. Even the employees are pissed off about what they have to choose from.

On a big plus note...I picked up a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer Premiere that I really like. And sold my 2000 F250 diesel. That Merc is pretty nice, and I am picky.

I read that too this morning. BONUSES to WHITE COLLAR!?!? Bribs to stay is the short way to put it. People are leaving at an alarming rate around Dearborn.

Trust me...I get calls for all kinds of positions over there, many I am not qualified for. But the recruiter asks if I think i can learn it? Uhhh, no! Not for what you are paying.

I'll get on my Soap Box again...we are taught growing up to save for a rainy day. Ford should have been saving $$$ 10 years ago...not giving out $6000 profit sharing checks :banghead:

Anyhow...I do have in interview at the big blue on Monday. This should be interesting, as I am very suited for the position, and could probably do it well, take it to the next level, which they need to.

But I was told through the grapevine I should have a certified offer letter from a Japanese company todya or Monday.

Talk about a moral delima Ford fed, clothed and kept a roof over my head for the 1st 27 years of my life. And the drive to work in Durlllborn (<----arabic accent) would be 5 miles vs. 28 miles. But FoMoCo would be contract of course. With crappy benies. The other company would be great benefits, better atmosphere and happier people.

It IS NOT an import car company, but a company that supports the testing of vehicles across the globe. I mean EVERYONE!

Guess it's a no brainer...go with the expanding company, not the shrinking one. Doesn't matter if the letter never comes though

Daytime TV sucks, the neighborhood is boring and I can only work out for so long.
